For
over 55 years, Newcomer has played an important role in the
manufacturing and finishing of tungsten carbide products for
solving metal removal needs. Newcomer carbide inserts and
special carbide tools can be found on the job in a wide variety
of markets from basic steel to sophisticated composite materials.
Wherever the need exists for removal of metal through a cutting
operation, Newcomer is helping to meet production requirements.
Start
up began for Newcomer during the last year of World War
II. Production began in a small building located in Latrobe,
Pennsylvania about 50 miles east of Pittsburgh. Through
its early years, the Company successfully met the challenges
of the metal-working industry.
In 1965, the Company moved
into new and larger facilities at its present location,
just three miles north of Latrobe. Expansion programs occurred
over the years and today's facility consists of more than
two acres of floor space, with approximately 90,000 square
feet of manufacturing and office area.
Over
the years, Newcomer has developed the "know-how"
and expertise to supply the metalworking industries with
superior products. From spray dried powders to sinter-hip
technology, Newcomer Products is on the leading edge of
carbide enhancements.
As
a specialist in carbide, Newcomer stresses its Research
and Development as well as its Quality Control and Quality
Assurance programs. Extensive research has resulted in the
development of new grades and products to meet various machining
applications where specific tooling characteristics are
required. New coated inserts with enhanced substrates and
engineered chipbreaker designs have been developed to assure
longer life, higher cutting speeds and improved productivity
for end users.
Put
Newcomer people and products to work for you. You'll see
the results.
